Woah, this one is gorgeous! It has lots of sweet perspective, I suggest you finish it fully though!

( I don't know if it's a flaw, but it seems that way. The round tower in the farback seems out of perspective, I think the curved lines in the middle need to be more horizontally.)

So this is what you call a sctech eh?
Roughly how long do you think this took you to make?
It got a really nice atmosphere going, and the decorations around the close-up balcony together with that building with the heartshaped window in it got me thinking initially you'd try a bit more japanese, but I soon saw the Italy in there still :3
I do get a strange feeling from those stairs on the right - were they meant to be more acute angled?
Either way, it's a fine sketch if you ask me ^^

3 days so.. maybe 25 hours. I could spend the same amount of time or more detailing and painting over it some more, if I wanted to finish it.
I'm always sticking to basic european architecture haha. Gonna try to break out of that habit more this year though (: Had a lil trouble with the perspective there, I think that was the best way to solve it but I do agree it's still a lil off. Thanks ^^

My pleasure ^^
You tried with the hawaiian, which was pretty nice 'n warm...
How 'bout some greek? (not jet or maybe never European, but quite it's own architecture)
I'm guessing Aztec/Inca is a bit too different from European to be entirely comfortable, no?
Ofcourse there are jet arabic architectures, which would be nice and somewhat fitting to that left test character you made on the "test test" deviation...
But I think you'd do great trying something completely japanese once, from what of it I can see here ofcourse.

(Aztec would go well with the big trees you like drawing, but who says japanese wouldn't? and now that I think about it, greek could too, like a hidden temple etc... I'm just dawdling now, I'll stop :P)

I've got a big list of one's to try, more hawaiian, greek, lots more arabic/mid east ones, and actually the thing I'm working on next week is oriental (:
Aztec or greek semi-ruins with big trees sounds great too though, and I love architecture that's clearly influenced by the natural environment! There's too much inspiration everywhere, I don't have enough time haha.

Someone should build a "new" tower of babylon(or just a tower that reaches "to the heavens"), built with the architecture of all civilisations!
That would be truly a sight to admire...
ofcourse not built in real, that'd be too much of a trouble with people nowadays...
...maybe I'll do it one day :3
